CISS & Guide
The Convergence Insufficiency Symptoms Survey (CISS) is used internationally for researching near vision problems. The survey is simple to administer and a score of greater than 16 is clinically significant and indicates that a referral to an optometrist is warranted. Good near vision is essential for academic learning and the CISS is an excellent screening tool for middle to high school students prior to starting iCept training. It can be used as a stand alone screening test or as an adjunct to the 3 Point Check Test. The CISS & the CISS Guide is a available to download for FREE.
Letter Track
Letter Track is a 6 week programme for students ages 6 to 8 years to help train reading eye movements and spatial awareness (where am I on the page). The activity is timed and although this may fluctuate from day to day the time to complete will gradually get faster despite the font size getting smaller. Most students like to be timed and see themselves get faster on the graph! If every primary school ran this activity on all their students they would likely see improvements in their school reading outcomes. This is because reading eye movements undergo a steep development during the primary school years and can readily be improved with daily practice. It can be downloaded below for FREE.
